buildings be made of cement any more?
Recently, the president of a construction group said that cement could no longer be used in the construction of buildings!
He listed the "three major crimes" of cement: high carbon emissions, unsafe and construction waste siege. Is the
truth really as he said? The answer is no!
Although it is true that cement plants have high carbon emissions, the industry has already made efforts to reduce carbon emissions and neutralize carbon, and has made many achievements, such as carbon capture and utilization, renewable fuels, raw material substitution and so on.
The other two points are nonsense.
First of all, let's talk about the safety of cement. There are many long-lived buildings throughout the ages, including cement buildings with a history of more than 100 years. As for the prevention of earthquakes, there are relevant construction norms in the construction industry, which have nothing to do with cement. It is even more absurd to
say that falling cement will kill people, and falling steel will also kill people. Is it impossible to use steel? If a car is going to kill someone, is it impossible to drive a car?
Besides construction waste, at present, the recycling of construction waste has been very mature, and is in the rising period of development, but cement in the production process can realize a large number of solid waste "turning waste into treasure"!
Therefore, to sum up, cement is the most economical and practical building material, at present, there is no product that can replace cement.
Looking up at the tall buildings scattered all over the place, overlooking the crisscross roads and paths, these are all "masterpieces" made of cement.
It can be said that cement has witnessed the development of the world economy and is also an important cornerstone of building a modern civilization in the world.
What's more, today's cement plants are no longer what they used to be, and garden-style intelligent cement plants are entering the public's vision. At the same time, in recent years, the co-disposal of solid hazardous waste in cement kilns has developed vigorously, creating conditions for the cement industry to build a better environment. It has gradually become the consensus of more and more cement enterprises to build a waste-free city and make cement plants a companion industry of the city.
