2022, The world's first steel slag capture cement kiln flue gas CO2 production line for carbon sequestration auxiliary cementitious materials and low-carbon cement has been completed and put into operation in Jiyuan Zhonglian Cement Co., Ltd., Henan Province.
This production line is the first industrial production line in the world that uses steel slag to capture CO2 from cement kiln flue gas to prepare carbon sequestration auxiliary cementitious materials and low-carbon cement. The project uses steel slag dry method to capture and utilize CO2 in situ, while realizing the emission reduction of CO2 in cement kiln flue gas, effectively solves the problem of poor stability of steel slag and improves its activity, and prepares auxiliary cementitious materials with high activity and carbon fixation. It breaks through the bottleneck problem that restricts the large-scale safety and high value-added application of steel slag in building materials such as cement, concrete and aggregate for a long time. does Jiyuan Zhonglian's project have? The project is invested and constructed by Shijing Science and Technology, with a total investment of nearly 100 million yuan. It is divided into two phases. The first phase of the project invests more than 40 million yuan. It consists of a production line of dry in-situ capture and utilization of CO2 from cement kiln flue gas by steel slag and a production line of high-efficiency composite admixture. Each year, 16,000 tons of CO2 from the flue gas at the end of the cement kiln will be directly captured, 300,000 tons of auxiliary cementitious materials for carbon fixation and 300,000 tons of high-efficiency composite admixtures will be produced by utilizing steel slag as a resource. The second phase of the project will build a production line of 300000 tons of high-efficiency composite admixture. After the project is put into operation, the annual output value will be 180 million yuan, the profit and tax will be 32 million yuan, the annual resource utilization of steel slag will be 300000 tons, and the comprehensive carbon reduction will be 250000 tons by reducing the amount of clinker in cement and cement in concrete.
"On the one hand, the project can effectively utilize steel slag as a resource, and at the same time, it can solidify CO2 from cement kiln flue gas into stable carbonate solids, so as to truly reduce carbon emissions." Lu Shoujiang pointed out.
