Recently, Zhejiang Jingke Energy Storage Co., Ltd. (Hereinafter referred to as "Jingke Energy Storage") started construction of 12 GWh energy storage system and 12 GWh energy storage battery in Haining City, Zhejiang Province, and the first production line is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of this year. It will be completed and put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2024.
It is reported that the total investment of the project is estimated to be 8.43 billion yuan , including energy storage core workshop, module Pack workshop, energy storage system assembly workshop and so on.
Jingke Energy Storage, as a "recruit" in the field of energy storage batteries, is behind the leading photovoltaic enterprise Jingke Energy. The start of this project marks another step forward in the layout of Jingke Energy in the field of energy storage. According to
the data, Jingke Energy Storage was established in April this year with a registered capital of RMB 1 billion, and its business includes battery manufacturing and energy storage technology services , which is indirectly wholly owned by Jingke Energy. Since its establishment, Jingke Energy Storage has taken frequent actions, such as introducing a new generation of liquid-cooled energy storage system and providing 135KWh energy storage system for Tashkent National University in Uzbekistan.
As a photovoltaic enterprise involved in the field of energy storage, Jingke energy storage is not an example. Because photovoltaic enterprises have advantages in application scenarios, industrial chain, scale and capital, and have almost the same market and channel resources as the downstream of the energy storage industry chain, many photovoltaic enterprises are considering energy storage as a "seed business" to cultivate the second growth point under the trend of "deep integration of light and storage".
Similarly, Dongfang Risheng, a photovoltaic giant, laid out the energy storage track through its subsidiary Shuangyili Energy Storage as early as 2018.
Data show that in 2022, the cumulative global shipments of Shuangyili Energy Storage exceeded 1 GWh, with a year-on-year growth rate of more than 500%. In January this year, Shuangyili Energy Storage announced that it would invest in the construction of a 10GWh high-efficiency new energy storage system in Ninghai County, and signed a three-year strategic cooperation agreement with Haichen Energy Storage on the supply of 15GWh lithium iron phosphate lithium-ion batteries.
It is noteworthy that in July this year, Risheng Electric Power (Yunnan) Co., Ltd. (Hereinafter referred to as "Risheng Electric Power") was formally established, its business scope includes battery manufacturing, battery sales and so on. Enterprise investigation data show that Dongfang Risheng (Ningbo) Electric Power Development Co., Ltd., the major shareholder of Risheng Electric Power, is a holding subsidiary of Dongfang Risheng, a listed company. Therefore, it is speculated that Risheng Power or another battery manufacturing platform of Dongfang Risheng will produce energy storage batteries in the future, which remains to be further observed. Under the background of
"double carbon", the new energy industry broke out, the installed capacity of photovoltaic, wind power and other new energy power stations continued to expand, and the compulsory storage policy was introduced, which led the energy storage market into a new era of vigorous development.
Industry leaders Jingke Energy and Dongfang Risheng frequently increase their energy storage business, which is the epitome of photovoltaic enterprises increasing their efforts to lay out the energy storage market. Ideally, a new era of integration of photovoltaic and storage may come, but judging from the fierce competition in the current energy storage battery market, it seems that it is not easy for even the photovoltaic leader to get a share in the field of energy storage batteries.
