China's building materials have been chasing "green".

Waste tire is a compound composed of rubber, carbon black, chemical additives, fibers and steel wires. Its combustion calorific value is 25-50% higher than that of coal and 100-200% higher than that of wood. It is an ideal alternative fuel. After being crushed by a rubber crusher, it can be conveyed to a cement kiln tail decomposition furnace for combustion according to a fixed proportion, so as to realize the substitution of fossil fuels. Waste tire powder/particles can release a large amount of energy under the high temperature decomposition of the cement kiln, and produce less pollutants at the same time, thus realizing the maximum utilization of resources and the maximum protection of the environment.

At present, many cement plants of China Building Materials Co., Ltd. have provided new possibilities for alternative fuels through co-disposal of waste tire particles.

This is our concrete practice of adhering to the concept of "making good use of resources and service construction", speeding up the green low-carbon transformation, and focusing on "carbon reduction", "carbon sequestration" and "carbon management" in the production process. Among them, in the aspect of "carbon reduction", we have increased the popularization and application of advanced and applicable energy-saving and carbon-reducing technology and equipment, explored alternative schemes for raw materials and fuels, and helped to establish a green and low-carbon cycle development industrial system.

Yunnan Yiliang Southwest Cement

Yiliang Southwest Cement has been transporting tire powder to the company as an alternative fuel for trial since August 2022. A total of 1755 tons of tire powder were used in about three months, replacing about 2019 tons of raw coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 2944 tons. According to the current daily use of 30 tons of one production line and 250 days of kiln start-up, it can replace 7500 tons of raw coal consumption annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 12583 tons annually.

Fumin Jinrui Cement

From December 2021 to May 2022, Fumin Jinrui Cement purchased tire powder in the form of ton bags and stacked it in the company's coal yard. After mixing with coal by forklift, it was pushed into the feeding port and fed into the coal mill by belt conveyor. During this period, 1005 tons of tire powder were used, replacing about 1153 tons of raw coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 2318 tons. During this period, after continuous optimization and transformation, a complete set of tire powder mixing device was added in May 2022. At present, according to the annual output of 600000 tons of clinker, about 4800 tons of raw coal can be reduced annually, and about 9650 tons of carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced annually.

Heilongjiang Binzhou Cement

Since September 2022, Heilongjiang Binzhou Cement has transported rubber particles to the company by tanker for trial use as an alternative fuel. In about one month, 980 tons of rubber particles were shared, about 1222 tons of raw coal were replaced, 2637 tons of carbon were reduced, and the average daily carbon reduction was 164 tons. According to one production line using 68.5 tons/day, calculated by 180 days per year, it can replace raw coal consumption of 12330 tons and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 29520 tons per year.
