The China-Laos Railway is an electrified passenger and freight railway, with a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour and a total length of 1,035 kilometers. It starts from Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China in the north, passes through the border ports of Pu'er and Mohan in China in the south, and then passes through the border ports of Boten, Muang Sai, Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng in Laos, and finally reaches Vientiane, the capital of Laos. China-Laos Railway is a modern railway built with high quality and high standards, adhering to the concept of green ecological environmental protection, adopting Chinese standards and advanced technology, and will open up a thoroughfare for the areas along the line to stimulate the economy.

In response to the national "Belt and Road" initiative, Red Lion Group invested US $300 million to build a new dry-process cement production line with a daily output of 5,000 tons in Vientiane Province.
