Up 15.9% year on year! Vietnam exports 5.837 million tons of cement in February 2021

Vietnam Cement Association (VNCA) announced that in the first two months of 2021, Vietnam's cement industry had exported 5.837 million tons of cement and 214 million US dollars, with a year-on-year increase of 15.9% and 6.6% respectively. In January

alone, Vietnam exported 3.14 million tons of cement and clinker , including 1.38 million tons of cement and 1.76 million tons of clinker. In February, 2.7 million tons of cement and clinker were exported, with an export value of 96 million US dollars. In the first two months, the export volume accounted for 35% of the total sales volume of the whole industry.

VNCA reports that there are currently 90 clinker and cement production lines in Vietnam's cement industry, with a total capacity of 106.6 million tons and an actual capacity of 122 million tons.

The domestic market is still the main sales market, with an average annual sales volume of 50-65 million tons in the past five years. In 2020, affected by the epidemic, the domestic cement sales volume was only 62 million tons, 3 million tons less than in 2019. At present, the export of cement accounts for 38% of the total output.
