Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission approved the feasibility study report of Aershan Port Highway Project

Recently, the Development and Reform Commission of the Autonomous Region issued the Reply on the Feasibility Study Report of Aershan Port Highway Project (Nei Fa Gai Jiao Yun Zi [2009] No.2464), which was reported to the Ministry of Transport for the record and will be included in the 2010 National Port Highway Construction Plan.

Aershan Port Highway is an important part of the autonomous region's highway network planning, and an important channel for Xing'an League to the eastern province of Mongolia, the eastern part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to connect Mongolian ports, connect trade between China and Mongolia, promote tourism development, and promote regional economic development. The existing port highway is a third-class highway with low technical standards and poor traffic capacity, which is no longer suitable for the needs of port development.

The proposed project starts from the first-class highway from Aershan to Dural Section of Provincial Highway 203, passes through the shipping port of Halaha River and Beihong Farm, and ends at the national gate of the joint inspection area of Aershan Port under construction. The total length of the proposed route is 9.50 kilometers, and it is planned to adopt the second-class highway standard for construction. The subgrade width is 10.00 meters, the pavement width is 8.50 meters, the lane width is 2 × 3.50 meters, the bridge design load is Grade II, and the design speed is 60 kilometers per hour. The pavement is of asphalt concrete structure. The total investment is estimated to be 53 million yuan. It is planned to start construction and open to traffic in 2010.

At present, the environmental assessment, land pre-examination and other preliminary work of the project have been basically completed. The construction drawing design has been arranged and completed by the Highway Bureau of the Autonomous Region and submitted to the Department of Communications for approval.
