On January 27, the Arca government of Armenia decided to temporarily ban import of cement, saying that the decision was based on the relevant laws and regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union on the import of cement, aiming at protecting the production of cement in Armenia and promoting the development of the domestic cement manufacturing industry.
Armenia is a Republic located in the Transcaucasian region of Western Asia. It is bordered by Turkey to the west, Georgia to the north, Azerbaijan to the east, Iran to the south, and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, an enclave of Azerbaijan, with Yerevan as its capital. The main source of Armenia's economy is agriculture and animal husbandry, of which agricultural production is concentrated only in the lowlands near the capital.
