On March 19, the 2026 Anti-monopoly Work Conference was held in Xiamen, Fujian Province. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the conference thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of the 20th and 20th Plenary sessions of the CPC, earnestly implemented the deployment requirements of the National Conference on Market Supervision, summarized the anti-monopoly work in 2025, analyzed the current situation, and studied and deployed the key tasks in 2026. Wang Tiehan, Anti-monopoly Director of the General Administration of Market Supervision, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
The meeting pointed out that since 2025, market supervision departments at all levels have earnestly implemented the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, strengthened anti-monopoly supervision and law enforcement, settled 22 cases of market monopoly and 706 cases of concentration of operators throughout the year, promoted the continuous optimization of the market competition environment, and strongly supported the sustained economic recovery. In-depth implementation of the fair competition review system, strengthening checks at the source; filing and investigating 96 cases of abuse of administrative power to exclude and restrict competition, effectively standardizing the government's economic promotion behavior, and creating a good competitive environment.
The meeting emphasized that 2026 is the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan, and that to do a good job in anti-monopoly work, we should focus on promoting the construction of a unified national market in depth, continuously deepening the governance of fair competition, vigorously breaking down local protection and market segmentation, standardizing the order of market competition, thoroughly rectifying the "involution" competition, deepening international exchanges and improving the system. Continuously improve the efficiency of supervision, show new responsibilities in serving the national strategy, achieve new achievements in grasping the initiative of international competition, and make positive contributions to promoting high-quality development and serving the good start of the 15th Five-Year Plan.
