On September 24, the National Energy Administration released the national electricity statistics from January to August.
By the end of August, the total installed capacity of power generation in China was 4.103 billion kilowatts, an increase of 11.1% over the same period last year. Among them, the installed capacity of solar power was 1.299 billion kilowatts, an increase of 16.3% over the same period.
From January to August, the newly installed PV capacity in China was 97.19 GW , representing a year-on-year decrease of 134.53 GW or 57.54% .
According to the data from January to July, the newly installed photovoltaic capacity in August was 11.04 GW, which was 21.59% lower than that in July , and was also lower than that in June (14.36 GW). Compared with August 2025, it increased by 50% .
It is worth noting that after last year's "531" installed capacity tide, the national photovoltaic installed capacity experienced a three-month continuous decline from June to August, and August of that year became the lowest monthly installed capacity in the past three years.
