According to the Energy Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the first key project of new energy cooperation between Inner Mongolia and Ningxia, the "Carbon Reduction and Greening Project of State Power Investment Aluminum and Electricity Company", has been approved and implemented recently. It is the first cross-provincial green power direct connection project in China to build a new energy installed capacity of 3 million kilowatts and connect Ningxia Ningdong Aluminum Industry and Qingtongxia Aluminum Industry through special lines.
Domestic inter-provincial power transmission is mainly based on UHV and EHV long-distance transmission, mostly in the mode of "point-to-network" or "network-to-network", mainly realizing the transmission of power from the western region to the central and eastern regions, and there is no precedent for short-distance inter-provincial "point-to-point" green power direct connection.
The project innovatively proposes the "point-to-point" direct supply mode of new energy across provinces and regions in short distance, realizes the complementary advantages of resources between the two provinces through the matching of "new energy in Inner Mongolia" and "load in Ningxia", further enriches the new energy delivery mode across provinces and regions in China, and promotes the development of new energy supply across provinces and regions in China. It provides new ideas and samples for inter-provincial power complementarity and broadening the channels of new energy consumption.
