CCTV reported.
According to local reports, the South Korean government recently held a special meeting, focusing on the import of Chinese cement and other programs. Reporters
in Seoul said that among the material costs of apartment construction in South Korea, concrete accounts for the largest proportion, reaching 60%, and the main raw material of concrete is cement.
Since 2021, the Korean cement industry has raised cement prices four times, currently about 594 yuan per ton, an increase of nearly 50%. According to the Korean construction industry, the import price of Chinese cement is expected to be about 506 yuan per ton, which is about 15% cheaper than current Korean cement.
It is reported that the import of cement requires a series of processes, such as relevant certification and the construction of professional storage warehouses, which takes about two years. The
South Korean government said at the meeting that it was pushing ahead with a plan to import cement from China as soon as 2026.
