the State Council chaired a State Council executive meeting on August 19 and decided to approve five nuclear power projects, including the first phase of the Xuwei Project in Jiangsu Province. The meeting emphasized that safety is the lifeline of nuclear power development, and it is necessary to continuously improve the level of nuclear power safety technology and risk prevention capabilities, strengthen the safety supervision of the whole chain and all fields, ensure the safety of nuclear power, and promote the long-term healthy development of the industry.
It is understood that the above-mentioned five nuclear power projects approved by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress are: Jiangsu Xuwei Phase I Project under the China Nuclear Group, Shandong Zhaoyuan Phase I Project, Guangdong Lufeng Phase I Project, Zhejiang Sanao Phase II Project under the China General Nuclear Power Group, and Guangxi Bailong Nuclear Power Phase I Project under the State Power Investment Group, totaling 11 new nuclear power units. The total investment is more than 200 billion yuan. The construction of
the above projects will drive a large number of nuclear power cement demand. Nuclear power cement is mainly used in the construction of nuclear island, valve base, containment and other key parts of nuclear power plants. The nuclear island, valve foundation and conventional island of nuclear power plant are large volume projects, which require high long-term safety, crack resistance and durability of concrete, so a number of special performance requirements are put forward for concrete cement, such as high compressive strength, low hydration heat, low alkali content, low chloride ion content, low dry shrinkage and other comprehensive performance indicators.
Nuclear power cement is a new type of cement which integrates the characteristics of heat cement, sulfate-resistant cement, low-alkali cement and ordinary cement. It has the characteristics of high growth rate of strength in the later period, low hydration heat, low dry shrinkage rate and low alkali content.
China's nuclear power construction is accelerating. For two consecutive years in 2022 and 2023, the number of nuclear power units approved each year will reach 10, and the total investment of each million-kilowatt nuclear power unit will exceed 20 billion yuan.
Recently, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the Opinions on Accelerating the Comprehensive Green Transformation of Economic and Social Development, which put forward: "Accelerating the construction of clean energy bases such as wind power photovoltaic in Northwest China, hydropower in Southwest China, offshore wind power and coastal nuclear power.." By 2030, the proportion of non-fossil energy consumption will increase to about 25%.
With the approval and construction of nuclear power projects, the demand for nuclear power cement may be increased. The development of special cement is an important part of the transformation and upgrading of the cement industry, fostering new momentum for development, and also an important practice to promote the high-quality development of the cement industry.
