On September 6, the Bureau of Ecology and Environment of Loudi City, Hunan Province, issued a public announcement on the approval decision of the environmental impact report of the recycling project of waste lithium iron phosphate batteries with a 24000 of tons per year.
Data show that the project is located in Loudi High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Hunan Province, and is invested by Loudi Jinhong New Materials Co., Ltd. with a total area of 30000 m and a total investment of 150 million yuan. The project mainly constructs two waste battery dismantling and crushing production lines (No.1 and No.2), two product production lines (No.1 and No.2) and supporting utilities such as water supply and drainage, electric power, waste gas treatment, sewage treatment and other environmental protection projects. In the proposed project, the waste ferric phosphate batteries are pretreated by disassembling and crushing, and the main products of ferric phosphate (6500.34t/a) and carbonic acid (1788.35t/a) and the by-products of copper powder (2604t/a), aluminum powder (1435.62t/a) and sodium sulfate (23642 0.39t/a) are produced by wet process.
