On December 14, the integrated demonstration project of "Wind Power + Energy Storage + Hydrogen Production" in Fengning, China Electric Power Construction Hebei Engineering Company , was officially launched. The project is located on both sides of S244 and S301 provincial roads in Datan Town, Fengning Manchu Autonomous County, Chengde City, Hebei Province, with a total installed capacity of 300 MW and 52 new wind turbines, including 12 wind turbines with a single unit capacity of 5.0 MW and 40 wind turbines with a single unit capacity of 6.0 MW. It is scheduled to be completed and put into operation on November 30 , 2024. After the
project is put into operation, it is estimated that the annual on-grid electricity will be 862500 MWh, the annual equivalent utilization hours will be 2875 hours, the annual standard coal will be saved by 192000 tons, the carbon dioxide emission reduction will be about 554100 tons, the emission reduction of other pollutants such as smoke and dust will be about 122.5 tons, and the emission reduction of sulfur dioxide will be about 446.8 tons. The emission reduction of nitrogen oxides is about 1143.6 tons, which has obvious economic, social and environmental benefits.
It is worth noting that from the content of the project construction, the project has no "hydrogen production part" , which has been clearly stated in the EIA document published on September 5 this year that "hydrogen production part will no longer be constructed". Shortly after the cancellation of the hydrogen production part of
the Envision Energy Fengning Project, Huadian also cancelled the hydrogen production part of a green hydrogen project in Chengde, Hebei Province. Up to the time of publication, no news of the start of the project has been seen.
After the cancellation of the hydrogen production part, the prospective energy Fengning project is still under construction. In Inner Mongolia, the construction content of the scenery part of the abolished scenery hydrogen production project will also be abolished.
On December 4, the Energy Bureau of Inner Mongolia released the list of new energy projects that have been abolished in the region. According to official documents, five wind and solar hydrogen production projects were abolished, with a total installed capacity of 3.556 million kilowatts, including Sinopec's 100,000-ton annual wind and solar hydrogen production integration demonstration project in Ulanchabu.
According to public information statistics, up to now, seven hydrogen production projects have been cancelled in China.
